The famous McMinnville, OR photos taken in 1950 are widely considered some of the best UFO photographic evidence to date. The Trent’s (the farmer and his wife responsible for taking the photo) were considered by locals to be honest, hardworking, upstanding individuals not prone to flights of fancy or producing confabulations
The infamous debunker Phillip Klass surmised that since the Trent’s officially stated these photo’s were taken in the early evening (he claimed the position of the sun in the photo indicated the picture was taken in the morning) that their story was therefore suspect and not to be believed.
It was later demonstrated through documents obtained via the Freedom of Information Act that Phillip Klass was on the government payroll, and all of his debunking activities may have been part of a well calculated misinformation campaign endorsed by the government.
The Trent’s maintained that the pictures were real, even until their deaths in 1997 and 1998.
